Which crustacean?

[edit]

You have identified the trematode and the flatworm. What species is this parasitic crustacean? 70.161.208.216 (talk) 20:11, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A long, eel-like body.

[edit]

This description is sort of redundant. Of course an eel has an eel-like body.

A better description would be something similar to snake-like. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.111.151.194 (talk) 06:36, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mediterranean moray

The Mediterranean moray (Muraena helena), also known as the Roman eel, is a species of fish in the moray eel family. It has a long eel-like body and is found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. The Mediterranean moray prefers rocky bottoms and lives at depths between 1 and 801 metres with the 100–300 m range the most common habitat. It is a territorial species and is more active at night, spending most of the day in cavities and clefts between rocks and is more active at night. It hunts fish, crabs and cephalopods. The Mediterranean moray's bite can be dangerous to humans. This individual was photographed off the island of Gozo, Malta.
