Note from www.HistoryLink.org, the online encyclopedia of Washington State History: Hutton's real suffrage work was in Washington. Idaho women had gained the vote so early that there was little for her to do there for that state, although she hosted suffragists on the national level. May and Levi Hutton didn't just invest in the Hercules Mine, they, esp. Levi, with August Paulsen, actually prospected the claim over several years, and Paulsen was the one who struck ore. It is true that they were investors, but they were in there with pick and shovel from the beginning. The Wikipedia article mentions various investors who are not the least bit germane to this brief piece on May.
