Artist?
[edit]Hmm...
I suspect Matt Smith the artist is a different person from Matt Smith the editor/writer. Artw 23:23, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yes I did suspect as much. I did a more extensive search and it appears the artist is one Matthew Smith from Albany, New York (spamblock won't let me post the link though) and might post to this blog [1]. It might be worth starting Matthew Smith (artist) and move the bits and bobs over there. He is certainly notable enough having worked on Hellboy and The Keep (graphic novel), which points here, as does Sentinels of Magic. Seems the simplest fix and would help resolve quite a bit of confusion. It also means people who know more about him can jump in and expand it. If that seems good for you I'll do a quick tidy up and sort the new entry out. Actually I see there is a Matthew Smith (artist) so perhaps: Matthew Smith (comics artist)? Damn these popular names!! (Emperor 23:59, 22 February 2007 (UTC))
- There's also a TV presenter and an actor called Matt Smith! Definitely a popular name! Digifiend (talk) 01:22, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Someone forgot about Viz
[edit]I've deleted a line about this Matt Smith being the only editor of British adult comics (specifically 2000AD and its spin-off Judge Dredd Magazine) as Viz is also a comic aimed at adults, so it simply wasn't true! Digifiend (talk) 01:22, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Good eye there ;) Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 02:11, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved to Matt Smith (comics editor) as there appears consensus for this. (non-admin closure) –Ammarpad (talk) 18:23, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
Matt Smith (comics) → Matt Smith (British comics) – Incomplete disambiguation from the American comic book artist Matthew Dow Smith who, as his lead sentence indicates, is "sometimes credited as Matt Smith or Matthew Smith". —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 17:57, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support but prefer Matt Smith (comics editor) as category. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:20, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- I also prefer (comics editor). Argento Surfer (talk) 13:48, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. Shouldn't it be "comic editor"? We don't refer to people as "newspapers editors" or "magazines editors", no matter how many they've edited. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:01, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- "Comics" is a singular noun when it refers to the medium, such as "The comics industry". Argento Surfer (talk) 15:02, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support either option.--Cúchullain t/c 17:01, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
