Marsaskala/Marsascala
[edit]Unclear which is the "correct" spelling.
Marsascala is the more common on Google with around 50,000 hits vs Marsaskala at round 12,500.
Spelt Marsaskala on the maps I have available. Sufficent ambiguity for a redirect link I believe.

The article Marsaskala supersedes the Marsaskala or Marsascala article. All useful content has been transferred I believe. I originally set up redirects from both spellings of the town name to the article Marsaskala or Marsascala, somewhere in the editing history the Marsaskala version has become the live article. Marsascala is a redirect that points to Marsaskala

I can confirm that the area locally is also known as Wied il-Għajn, I've had it explained to me in detail by several local residents. An explanation of that name is also included in the text by user marsascalin, a local resident. I'm having some difficulty locating an English language reference that supports the Maltese name, most documents that use that title are in Maltese. What a strange item to raise issues of fact about when there is a description in the text of the article. --Shoka 21:51, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
