The statement "Housewives and regular women went wild for these dancers." is extremely POV. Many "regular women" regarded these characters as no better than prostitutes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.197.15.138 (talk) 07:46, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

[edit]There appears to be an issue over the second image that shows the prevalent form of male stripping that is for a female audience and not on a stage, something that the higher definition image shows. It is therefore best to retain both images as both give an insight into what a male stripper is.1969Laura (talk) 17:59, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
- The additional picture may be of lower definition but it is more indicative of a male stripper, as the money in the g-string is not one found outside the US and only at private parties and much more widely associated with female strippers throughout the world. As stated it does appear that the extra picture, though poorer in definition does actually offer a great deal to the understanding of the subject and the article, especially the associated material that I added.1969Laura (talk) 18:48, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
- Your picture is not needed. I agree with High Contrast. We don't need two picturess in this very small article. It just bunches up the text, sandwiching it, which is against WP:Manual of Style. You only want that image in this article because it's your image. It doesn't actually have anything that would help the reader understand this topic. 72.203.168.154 (talk) 21:41, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- If you read beyond the first comments it was further agreed that despite the image beyond of poorer quality it was actually of a more accurate and descriptive image of what happens and what has happened in the more prevalent form of male stripping in the English-speaking world, ie USA, UK, Aus, etc.1969Laura (talk) 08:25, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Hangar Club, Morningside, Maryland, world's first strip club devoted to women?
[edit]I believe the first male strip club devoted to women (emphasis on women) was established at an old airplane hangar near Andrews Air Force Base in suburban Maryland. The place is called The Hangar Club. It's regularly advertised in the Washington and Baltimore markets to women. Recently, the club has introduced female strippers. I can recall as far back as the early 1970s the Hangar Club advertising on radio. I remember hearing it was the first club like it in the world to cater exclusively to women. This article is a joke as it stands and if it's to be taken seriously--and wikipedia in general--then it needs fleshed out with more historical and cultural information. The article reads more like a dictionary definition of male stripping. More research is needed.
