[edit]Definition of a Malaysian Malay
Please recheck this. How does a Non Malay (Every other race in this world) who is fluent in the Malay language be categorised ethnically as a Malay??
There does not appear to be any coherence there. Grateful for some feedback. Otherwise the para in question is Non - Sense. Thanks

Useless stub is useless
[edit]Little on culture, architecture, political control, demographics, wealth distribution, population distribution in the Borneo states, nothing on overemphasis of Malay culture in governance, including education, currency, social policies and political parties, or even the basic language use. Truly inferior over Malays in Singapore. - 60.50.248.38 (talk) 14:54, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Please add new reference when changing figures
[edit]Please note that sourcing is important in Wikipedia, and when figures get changed, new references need to be given. This is so that people can check any figure given, and not some random numbers that may be wrong. People need to trust what's given in the article. Hzh (talk) 13:06, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Population figure for Malay
[edit]Please note that population for Bumiputera does not equal figure for Malaysian Malays. The Bumiputra figure includes natives of Peninsula Malaysia (e.g. Orang Asli), Sabah and Sarawah (e.g. the Dayaks and Kadazan-Dusuns) who are not Malays. Don't mistake the two. Malaysian Malay → Malaysian Malays – Ethnic groups are usually titled as WP:PLURAL. Also opens up the page Malaysian language to be moved to “Malaysian Malay”. Showiecz (talk) 14:15, 24 May 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 17:29, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Otherwise, it sounds like the language. — AjaxSmack 02:30, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support to avoid confusion between the Malay people and the Malay language. JIP | Talk 21:05, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. The plural takes an -s which is not optional here (unlike with certain other ethnic groups, e.g. Maya(s), Maori(s) etc.). –Austronesier (talk) 17:53, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
- Support per all rationale mentioned above. couldn't find any reason to disagree. Ckfasdf (talk) 02:31, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

Anak dagang section
[edit]Some Indonesian users like user:Ckfasdf are insisting to include Sumatra, please state your reasoning. The paragraph was discussing about in and out movements involving historical regions of Malaysia. As far as i know, Sumatra is never a historical region of Malaysia, please state here why you want to include it despite the source title also clearly stating ‘Melaka Malay’ diaspora. - Nevermind... it's you who add that claim in the first place. Ckfasdf (talk) 14:14, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- User @Bayoka55 also insist on adding Sumatra. Please share your reasoning here, despite the paragraph in question merely discussing on the in-out movements of people involving historical regions of Malaysia Etugrulghazi (talk) 17:42, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
