Tony Longo? On Y&R? For almost 10 years? Uhmm, no.

[edit]

The only source for this edit is the actor's IMDb page (which can never be used as a source for wikipedia) and this Hollywood Reporter link which gives no dates. For all we know, he could've been on for one day in a non-speaking role. It doesn't give any dates. Until such time as a valid source can be used to prove this info is valid, it shouldn't be here. Since he appeared in 46 episodes we can rule out that it was "only for one day in a non-spaeaking role". And IMdb is perfectly ok to use when it's not a BLP. Things like filmography can be taken from Imdb. In fact I'm sure that every filmography on every actors page is taken from Imdb. Even the specific episodes he appeard in are listed. ^^That's not true and you know it. I've already put the wikipedia link about IMDb on your talk page.Cebr1979 (talk) 12:25, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deceased cast members

[edit]

Do we really need this section? Humans don't live forever so, realistically, every cast member is going to end up deceased at some point and lately we've had random people who played a nothing guest character get added to the list. Dead people are already listed in the previous actors section, do we need them listed again in their own dead chart too? I think not.Cebr1979 (talk) 19:18, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

well, it's been a week and noone is opposed so...Cebr1979 (talk) 01:55, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As I said at the DOOL page. I think the section is interesting so I've restored it. Besides there were plenty of people on the deceased cast member section that wasn't listed in any other section. DrKilleMoff (talk) 00:04, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's useless so I took it off again. Wikipedia isn't here to be "interesting." Interesting trivia is for fan sites. As for the dead people not in the previous section, you can always put them there.Cebr1979 (talk) 04:09, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's your personal opinion that it's useless. But the fact is it has been there for 8 years and no one has complained except for you.DrKilleMoff (talk) 09:06, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's not a valid reason to keep it around. I've provided valid reasons to get rid of it and you've just said,"I want it here so it's staying." Cebr1979 (talk) 09:09, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly is because obviously other people than me finds it usable . There are many things on wikipedia I think it's useless. But I do not remove them just for that. However, if a majority decides to remove it, i'm willing to accept it. DrKilleMoff (talk) 09:15, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well aware this discussion happened years ago so this is not an attempt to revive it. I've boldly removed the section, since as stated above, it is a trivial section that does not belong on Wikipedia. – DarkGlow21:26, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deceased cast members

[edit]

Hello. I'm starting a discussion to remove the "deceased cast members" section on this article and articles alike, since it seems my (unreplied to) comment was not enough! Firstly, the section is trivia; a cast member being dead is not related to them appearing on this series. Even if they died while appearing on the series, that should be mentioned on their character/actor article, not here. Secondly, the section is unsourced. We have a responsibility to provide sources for contentious information, and date of death is certainly contentious. That being said, regardless of if an editor sourced every single death, it would still be trivia... Thirdly, linking actors numerous times is overlink. In conclusion, every cast member will be dead one day. How is that related to this article? – DarkGlow19:13, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
