[edit]Looking at the dates the various presidents served, my guess is that Italian presidents serve 7-year terms and can't be re-elected, but the article doesn't actually say this. Is my guess right? Everyking 05:46, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
- Never mind, I found my answer in Politics of Italy: yes it's seven years; two terms aren't forbidden by law but no president has ever been re-elected. Everyking 05:47, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
According to the official site of the President of Italian Republic the Temporary President of State (De Gasperi) and the ones that held the office during the Interim were not Presidents of the Italian Republic (http://www.quirinale.it/ex_presidenti/expresidenti.htm). Fair use rationale for Image:Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.jpg
[edit]Image:Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Politcal party of Mattarella
[edit]Mattarella is not part of Democratic Party, he left it as he was elected Constitutional judge. He is independent as Mr. Napolitano was in his second term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.34.7.118 (talk) 16:03, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
E.g.: also Mr. Ciampi was elected by a centre-left majority, but he was an independent politician. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.34.7.118 (talk) 16:06, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Sergio Mattarella is a member of Democratic Party and when he was elected Constitutional judge he was always a member of the party. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.16.33.179 (talk) 22:30, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

There is an ongoing edit war implemented by an IP user to change the official portrait of President Sergio Mattarella for unknown reasons. I sincerely think that the only way to stop this useless edit war is to protect the page. Thanks -- Nick.mon (talk) 11:52, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 15:06, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
List by length of term
[edit]Can we add a list regarding the presidents from longest to shortest in this page? I remember that there was a page regarding what I've said earlier, but I think it was deleted for a reason since I can't find it and the links were removed from the sea also heading.
