Michael Jackson?
[edit]Can we get Michael (and possibly Janet) Jackson on here? I'll leave the task to someone who knows more about them, but Michael's procedures were pretty significant.Londonbeat41692 (talk) 02:04, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- No. Michael Jackson’s medical procedures have been that of folklore. No one knows exactly the medical procedures performed on Jackson, but there’s much evidence that much of it was grossly exaggerated. Jackson’s autopsy report revealed a lot of normalcy, and nothing notable or outstanding in areas of his face and body that was suspected of much modifications. Also, Jackson’s admitted nose job and chin does not qualify as “extensive” modifications. Much of Jackson’s appearance changes were due to other medical issue. Jackson had to autoimmune disorders, both capable of changing one’s appearance; vitiligo and lupus. Vitiligo was responsible for lightening his skin and making him allergic to the son. Lupus would attack Jackson’s soft tissue in his body, like organs, nose, and others, sometime requiring corrective(not cosmetic) surgery. It wouldn’t be fair to include Michael Jackson on this list and there’s simply far too much unverifiable speculation on his procedures or lack thereof. As far as Janet Jackson is concerned, she’s not known to having had any extensive modifications at all. However, it’s speculated that she may have had a small nose job. But if you start adding people to this list with minor procedures, you’re going to end up with all of the entertainment industry, and that’s not what this list is about.TruthGuardians (talk) 12:54, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- True. Many, many entertainers, artists and models had corrective or cosmetic surgery, ranging from one minor intervention to repeated procedures. Israell (talk) 14:08, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- There is not enough credible evidence about Jackson's medical history to know what exactly was done and why. Nobody knows how much was actual body modification and how much the effect of health problems like lupus. Besides, he is far from being among those with most body modifications. It's quite possible Cher had more plastic surgeries than Jackson, except she is not called out for it because she has consistently looked fairly good. castorbailey (talk) 15:44, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanations, everyone. I understand! I certainly don't want to belittle anyone for having a disease. I was under the impression at least his nose job was pretty extensive, with multiple revisions, but I suppose that alone doesn't make this list. You're absolutely right about Cher, too! If there are sources, I wouldn't mind seeing her on here. Londonbeat41692 (talk) 02:55, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
