A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on July 6, 2016. The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that the "City of Lakes" has a ship's wheel on its flag, a sailboat in its logo, and 13 lakes of at least 5 acres (0.02 km2) (Lake Nokomis pictured)? |

Is Nokomis part of the chain of lakes?
[edit]I just added (and then reverted) an edit including a bullet point saying Lake Nokomis is part of the chain of lakes. But now I'm not sure if that's true. Looking at the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway page, you can see that the scenic byway goes around Nokomis. But, other sources on the internet only list 5 lakes. For example, the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes park page does not include Nokomis on its list. That same Minneapolis park page says that "The Chain of Lakes is one of seven byway districts along the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway." So perhaps there is a distinction between the scenic byway and the chain of lakes? AmeliaMN (talk) 16:35, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
