Links
[edit]Would someone please go through this and remove the multiple wikilinks? Wikipedia style is to only link something the first time, not every time, it is used. Hopefully, the person who inserted the multiple links will remove them. --jpgordonโโโโ 05:55, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Marc Mann
[edit]Was Marc Mann really a member of Oingo Boingo? I only ask because at the end of oingo boingo farewell Video they have him listed in the credits as an "addition musician," and he's not listed with the rest of the members. The link can be found here if anyone wants to take a look (It's in the ending credits at 5:47): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSKWhoe4lkg&feature=related
- Also the listing of the actual members during the final line-up is right above that at around 5:40.
Time Line
[edit]I have created the time line. obviously most dates are guessing, so i've just done a representational date within the same year and covering the relevant albums the musician featured in. the only album i haven't included yet is forbidden Zone, as there seems to be no solid date as to when this was released! so feel free to input if you know how, or message me. don't just assume from dates listen on wiki as i have found 3 different years here!Yellowxander (talk) 18:57, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
Documentation
[edit]I'd really like to know where TitanicFog is getting these dates. I'm not disagreeing with them, but we really need more sourcing on all the information in this article, and adding more unsourced information isn't helping. Who the heck is "Craig Pallett", for example? --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 20:49, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
most of it comes from this blog http://saltyka.blogspot.com/2010/04/oingo-boingo-part-1-mystic-knights-of.html?m=1 . The person seems to know a lot about the group. Ive also gathered info from memberโs sites (such as Stan Ayeroff), as well as biographies (such as Brad Kay). TitanicFog (talk) 21:03, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Also, it has been said multiple times that the group had members come and go all the time, Mr. Pallett could very well have been one of those people. TitanicFog (talk) 21:04, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
- In other words, not a single reliable source, and a classic unreliable source (some guy's blog). We're going to have to back out every one of your changes that cannot be sourced more reliably than this. "Could very well have been" is not worthy of Wikipedia. --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 21:33, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
- Please stop making changes based on "what you know". I was the lead trumpet player in the the band from mid-1973 to the Jan 1, 1976. The only other trumpet player for most of that time was Billy Superball. Here, for example, is the precise list of Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo in the spring of 1975: Richard Elfman, Daniel Elfman, Marie Pascal, Lori Mann, Leon Schneiderman, Todd Manley, Josh Gordon, Sam Phipps, Billy Superball, Bill Winant, Musti Faun, Brad Kay and Gisele Lindley. (LA Times, March 26, 1975.) --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 14:55, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

please do not re insert non cited information. thank you. SkidMountTubularFrame (talk) โ Preceding undated comment added 07:34, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
- I propose rolling this article back to before TitanicFog started inserting vast amounts of unsourced stuff. 30 October 2020 would work. --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 15:01, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
- Really, the Mystic Knights section should read, "Documentation of the early days of the MKOB is sparse. The cast list from March 1975 included...."; if anyone has any actual sources other than the Variety and LA Times reviews, I'd love to see them. --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 15:45, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
- As it stands, the whole thing should be deleted, as there is no reliable sourcing for any of it. --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 04:01, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

- User:TitanicFog, those photographs, though an enjoyable collection, are not a reliable source for dates, and we don't get to independently identify who we think are in those photographs. Who took these photos? Who collated them? Who assigned dates to them? Who assigned names to them? We really do need to roll back before any edits based on these photos were made. --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 14:48, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
The huge (1972 Sewell, 1976 Lionelli, 1978 Langdon) photoshoots were posted by the photographer themselves or band member. The photographer or band member assigned the year and names. I clearly do not guess any of the dates of the photos as the majority are not in the dated folders. TitanicFog (talk) 14:56, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- And for each item we need specific links to specific sources. Since you know where the sources are for everything you provided, you need to help make this article verifiable by including them with your changes. Where the Saltyka blog provides links, those links need to be in the article. As it stands, there are zero sources, which is a gross violation of WP:BLP, which in most circumstances would require the article to be removed. --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 18:18, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
Mystic Knights
[edit]Sooooo I thought we were not including Mystic Knights? If we include some, we should include all or none. Billy Superball should be credited as Bill Folwell. Brad Kay joined in 1974 and left in 1976. Miriam Cutler joined the group in 1975 and left in 1978. Dale Turner joined in 1973, left in 1973, and joined again in 1976. This page lists only 11 members of the Mystic Knights, when there were at least 34 in total. Please fix this page. TitanicFog (talk) 06:36, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- Replying to myself here, I started editing the page, this time with sources. If y'all need another source for something, lmk, I can probably find something. TitanicFog (talk) 22:02, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- And a little unrelated, Phipps and Turner are both credited on all Oingo Boingo releases. Someone who knows how to do rowspan could do that :P TitanicFog (talk) 22:18, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
more citations needed
[edit]When should this be removed? How many citations are needed? TitanicFog (talk) 01:47, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
Jan Munroe
[edit]Why isn't Jan Munroe on the timeline? --jpgordon๐ข๐๐๐ 16:52, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
