Russia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East

[edit]

Should western Russian events be included in Europe, Asia, or both? Should (all) Southeast Asian events be included in Oceania? Should the entire Middle East (Southwest Asia) be included in Asia; if yes, should parts be included in Europe or Africa as well? Evolauxia 12:52, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I feel like a Russian section is unneeded as the majority of tornadoes in Russia occur in the European part. Although, I do feel like the Middle East, Eastern Turkey and Southeast Asia should be included, I added an Indonesia section a few months ago. East Timor/Oceanian Indonesia/New Guinea should be included in Oceania 2A02:C7F:52FE:3F00:3411:1671:8658:739E (talk) 19:57, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sirlinksalot Tornado Links has a large collection of links to various tornadoes sites, and if you go to "News Articles about Tornadoes" has links to many, many news articles about tornado events around the globe. Evolauxia 22:28, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Name change suggestion

[edit]

Since when are tornadoes Asian, Caucasian, or Hispanic? The article's name should be changed to something like List of tornadoes and tornado outbreaks in Asia instead of "List of Asian tornadoes and tornado outbreaks."

Indonesian tornadoes

[edit]

Why is Indonesian tornadoes not included in here ? Alvaro ivan daniswara (talk) 00:12, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have added them, and you can help with adding tornadoes as I am unfamiliar with Indonesian tornadoes, I also never hear of them so it would be great for you to help! 2A02:C7F:52FE:3F00:3411:1671:8658:739E (talk) 20:02, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Indian/Bangladesh Tornadoes

[edit]

India and Bangladesh do get a lot of tornadoes each year (with strong ones as well), but there isn't that many tornadoes on these sections, I get that news sources are hard to find about tornadoes as they are not thought of/well known in these countries but I hope more tornadoes will be added! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:52FE:3F00:5824:8D12:CDC4:7E39 (talk) 14:33, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cooch Behar -Assam Tornado of 19 April 1963 fatalties

[edit]

This article currently lists 139 as the number of fatalities from this tornado. This data as far as I can tell is taken from the tornado project. However, competing claims do exist. In a 2016 paper about Bangladesh tornado climotology (this briefly crossed into bangladesh afterall) Hosen and Jubayer cite a different figure of 300 fatalties. This is also cited by Jonathan D: Finch in his blog which pre-dates the paer. The 2016 paper cites Saha, K., 1971. Tornadoes in India. Vayu Mandal. 1 pp. 84-87 but this old paper is not readily accessible. Although FInch cite his sources, I can't seem to find which one.that is. I actually send an e-mail to Finch asking for the source but I am not sure how much success this might have, I only bring this up instead of straight-up altering the article because it would make this the deadliest tornado in Indian history. Kyushu tornadoes of 1980

[edit]

According to this study, Typhoon Wynne helped produce several tornadoes in Miyazaki City, injuring fifteen people. Should they be included here? IAmMrE (talk) 16:18, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly, but there's probably enough Japan tornadoes for an entire List of Japan tornadoes article, considering there are about 25 per year in the country. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:15, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll probably begin working on that after finishing some Wikisource texts. IAmMrE (talk) 22:41, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
