The usual things to fix. Also some questions about the awards I spot checked. Ping when addressed. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 07:21, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know? If you fancy doing so, I always have plenty of GA nominees to review. Just look for the all-uppercase titles in the Television section. Reviews always appreciated.

Copy changes

[edit]

Lead

[edit]
  • I know it's British English, but a few sentences could do with a couple more commas, like...
    • Line of Duty was created by Jed Mercurio who executive produces the series alongside Simon Heath and Stephen Wright. (after Mercurio)
    • It also received significantly higher viewing figures than previous series and mostly positive reviews from critics leading to the commissioning of series six. (after critics)

Episode summaries

[edit]
  • Check your MOS:LOGICAL for 'Balaclava Man'. The period should be outside, like this.
  • Arnott is attacked by a man in a balaclava, and thrown down three flights of stairs. Remove unnecessary comma (WP:CINS)
  • Huntley is interviewed by AC-12 and Hastings says he will recommend she be suspended from duty. But here you need one after AC-12.
  • Arnott recalls that the body of Jackie Laverty, was buried after being kept in deep freeze and men in balaclava masks were involved. Move the comma from after Laverty to after freeze.

Production

[edit]
  • Did Cait Collins produce Northern Ireland Screen? Shuffle the order of your words so it makes sense.

Reception

[edit]
  • series opening episode should be "series's" or "series-opening"
  • Once the series concluded, Sarah Hughes, also with The Guardian said Complete the appositive with a comma after Guardian.
  • noted the how fix by rewording as appropriate.
  • Newton's character was however, Finish this appositive by adding a comma after "was" so "however" is fully set off. You do this a couple of times in this section.
  • "programmes" should be "programme's"

Sourcing and spot checks

[edit]

Reviewed: 14, 23, 36, 45, 46, 60

  • This has sat so long that Rotten Tomatoes now has 16 reviews, not 15, for series 4 at a 100% rating.
  • Ref 45 (BSA) seems to have a borked website.
  • Ref 46 (Diversity in Media Awards) did not check out. I see series 3, not 4, on that list.

The large Guardian percentage in Earwig is a quote and "Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar)", which does not count.

Images

[edit]

The series poster is non-free with valid NFUR. Newton's headshot is a still frame from a CC-BY video (verified on Vimeo today).

Response

[edit]

@Sammi Brie: I believe that I've addressed everything.

Ref 45 is loading fine for me on Chrome. Here's a screenshot from the page (red highlights indicate the winner of an award on this website). If it's not working for you, can you try the archive link or a different browser?

For ref 46, the series 4 version of the award appears to have been incorrectly placed under the series 3 header on the source. Also including a screenshot of this page with the specific award in question highlighted in blue. DCI Roz Huntley exclusively appears in the fourth series of this programme so it's impossible for the award to have been issued for the third series. Turns out ref 45 was an adblocker issue. 46 makes sense and seems to be an actual error on their part. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 05:15, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
