Owls
Is there any relevance to Leeds Met in the owl being the symbol of Sheffield Wednesday? This seems completely coincidental. Tonywalton | Talk 08:50, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
- I'm removing the "Sheffield Wednesday" comment as no arguments have been presented for its being anything more than coincidence. Tonywalton | Talk 00:20, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
- The Owl is actually the symbol of the city of Leeds. I have included this fact in the article--Crais459 09:23, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
University ratings
(I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)
There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings. university and college union report removed by unsigned user
I've noticed that user:Cordless_larry's summary of a UCU report on staff stress and bullying alleged at this university has been removed in an unsigned edit that originates from an IP address that is apparently within the Leeds Met University block (160.9.41.58). Could someone who knows more about this topic make a decision as to whether this edit should be reverted.
disclosure: I am a member of staff at this uni (just trying to keep us honest). Ben Noii 20:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I've added it back in. If anyone wants to remove it, it can be debated here. Cordless Larry 23:56, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Considerable content removed regarding harassment at Leeds Met
I notice that considerable content has been removed from this website, namely reference to many BBC "Look North" reports concerning alleged harassment and bullying at Leeds Met. I believe that Wikipedia has a responsibility to catalogue historical events and not simply act as an advert for an institution.
Please could this content be re-instated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ianmoticon (talk • contribs) 21:21, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Accomodation at Beckett's Park
I notice the article refers t an 'Olymic Village' of accomodation for students at Beckett's Park (Headingly Campus). As an undergraduate in the 1990's, the then existing halls of residence on campus were progressivly closed and converted to lecture and teaching facilities. There is no reference to this in the article. I have added some wording to the effect in the main article, but if someone has some concrete dates and facts, it would be good! Thanks, Ian. --Ormers (talk) 07:19, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Re-directs
Could someone please set up Leeds Met to redirect to Leeds Metropolitan University? London Met redirects to London Metropolitan University. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.173.4.187 (talk) 17:40, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

Opal 1/Prodigy/Marsden house
The article explains the name change to Prodigy House, but it is now called Marsden House. Anyone know why? Have Greystar sold it again? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.137.63.170 (talk) 16:04, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Why did it try to change its name to Carnegie, and why is the name used for eg sporting purposes? DuncanHill (talk) 21:02, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
