This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
Should the article be a little firmer on the obvious propaganda in their content? Videos like "Western Media Lies about Xinjiang" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy0n2LIR11U) are full of China's talking points and even phraseology. It even starts with "The US wants to retain its hegemonic status as the world's superpower." You can see his eyes glazed as he reads from a screen. This is not the speech of a normal Brit. It's the speech of someone who is being paid to read other people's copy and doesn't seem to understand what he's doing. Quite possibly he fell into this trap out of despair, but either way, it's not great.
