Strangers

[edit]

Was "Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore" officially released as a single? It only reached #47 but it lasted about 13 weeks with one week blank in the middle (#48, blank, then re-enter #53). How do you know if it is an album cut? The position of the song is very strange. on July 7, the song was #23 on bubbling under hot 100 singles, and 2 months later it charted on the country chart. Incorrect information on this page that is now correct

[edit]

How Do I Live" is a non-album single as the song was never released on an album until 2003 on her Greatest Hits, the extended mix of the song however was released on an album but the extended mix is not the same thing.

  • Extended mix meaning it is NOT The actual song so people need to quit confusing it. Thanks corrected this all over the LeAnn Rimes pages.

Several sources can point that "What Have I Done" was released as the lead single from Spitfire. "Borrowed" is not the lead single and "What Have I Done" is not a promotional single and I have sourced that. Also there is no need for 2 Promotional single sections. Sources here clearly states this song at 51 on the Billboard Country Song Chart on January 11, 1997. Apparently someone thinks posting it at 71 in 1998 is okay but from what I been told it has to be the lowest number the song charted on (Eg. 51 instead of 71) because Billboard runs that way. So I have fixed this entire page and corrected everything. I hope I will not have to do so again. 184.58.3.213 (talk) 23:12, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know this is an old post from back in 2012 but seeing as this is being debated yet again, does anyone have an actual reliable source stating How Do I Live is a single from the album because the CD singles for this song are being used as a source and as an owner of both the original and the reissue, I can say without a doubt that neither CD single makes any mention of You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs or the song being a single off the album. I have also done a deep search online trying to find a news source or anything that states this song is a single from the album, looked at my own personal CD collection and I can find NOTHING stating that the song was a single from the album. So am I missing something because I don’t know why this is being debated without any source material to back the claim?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1015:b13f:bed:6dd7:48cb:6f64:ca80 (talkcontribs) 07:42, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It does not matter what "version" was included on the album; single and album versions often differ and this is not an extreme difference, either. Both cited singles are accurate, which is reflected in their discogs and online sales pages. Breaktheicees (talk) 02:07, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong, you are actually making false claims. I own the Dance Mix Maxi single you tried to claim that says that How Do I Live is a single from the album and that is untrue and so you are just posting fake sources to try and get your way. Please stop. 2600:1015:B1E4:F59E:ACDF:905D:6E2F:97C (talk) 03:52, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Misclassification of Unchained Melody: The Early Years.

[edit]

If anyone looks at [Allmusic’s discography for LeAnn Rimes the album is listed as a compilation album, not a main album or a re-issue. Why someone is making this a reissue when it only consists of 7/11 tracks from an independent album is absolutely nuts. If anyone understands the definition of reissue than the 11 tracks would be included on the album, instead two tracks were recorded and released on a previous album and two other tracks were later re-recorded and issued on another compilation album. 7 songs were included on the album and 2 previously unreleased tracks were also included as well as a previously released b-side track. That sounds exactly like the I Need You album which is also considered a compilation album as it takes previously released recordings along with previously unreleased songs as well. Why is someone allowed to post misinformation on here? 174.202.100.165 (talk) 20:21, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also look at the review on Allmusic for the album, it calls it a “collection” of previously recordings again making this a compilation album not a reissue. 174.202.100.165 (talk) 20:29, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In the music industry, a reissue (also re-release, repackage or re-edition) is the release of an album or single which has been released at least once before, sometimes with alterations or additions. See also: I Wanna Be with You (album). I Need You borrows from several albums; The Early Years does not. I suppose you could make the argument that the one track "Unchained Melody" was previously released on a single, but it was never released on an album and was indeed promoted as a single from The Early Years. So, in this case we have 7 previously released tracks (all from All That) and three new ones. This fits the definition of a reissue a bit more than a compilation. It is not a requirement that all tracks on a reissue stem from the original nor does Allmusic prove anything - all albums could be considered "collections". Breaktheicees (talk) 05:06, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn’t matter. Everywhere else posts it as a compilation album just cause 1 source states it’s a reissue doesn’t make it a reissue. Why you insist on making it something it’s not is ridiculous. You’re posting misinformation and you just don’t give a f*ck. I am done with this vandalize these pages all you want, you’re just spreading misinformation and making it where this site should be shut down because it is nothing but BIASED editing and not posting actual facts. 174.202.100.165 (talk) 19:10, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a source? (Babysharkboss2) 19:13, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You keep saying me and others are "biased". What is my bias exactly? I'm just trying to provide accurate, sourced, and complete information. In a similar situation, I actually felt strongly that the previously linked I Wanna Be With You was a compilation, until it was brought to my attention that it better fit the definition of a reissue. Consensus turned out to be against me, and that's okay because I was wrong. The Early Years is better defined as a reissue than a compilation, which the Country Music ref specifically states.
