@Certes and Ssilvers In my opinion Leányvásár should remain as a stand alone article because it is the original work and it has been adapted multiple times into multiple languages. The original work was also made into films in 1919 and 1945 and into a television film in 1985. We could keep the adaptations as separate pages, or house the various adaptations ( The Marriage Market, Szibill, and Jack (operetta)) at this page. If the latter course is preferred, the adaptations should be redirected/merged to this article under this title. If others agree, I will set up a WP:MERGEPROP. Either way, this page should not be redirected to one of the many adaptations. It would be difficult to get a proper global perspective on this work by not keeping the original front and center as the primary topic; particularly since the original Hungarian was used in other media besides live performance. 4meter4 (talk) 02:37, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I think this page should be the one ring to rule them all, except that I have no reason to believe that Jack is notable enough to have its own article. -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:31, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have started a merge proposal per the discussion above. The operetta Leányvásár is the original work and should be the title of the main article as it is the source material for all of the various adaptations. Both the English-language version, The Marriage Market , and the 1914 Hungarian language adaptation Szibill, could be feasibly covered in subsections on this page; as could the Spanish language adaptation Jack which currently has no article. I would suggest that The Marriage Market become a disambiguation page as there are multiple films with that name with articles as well as the operetta. 4meter4 (talk) 04:03, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've no strong feelings either way. I simply saw that Leányvásár (before today's improvements) had no content beyond a summary of The Marriage Market and that its talk page redirected to TMM's, so I redirected the mainspace page to match. Certes (talk) 08:24, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
