[edit]"official architect of Imperial Russia during the reign of Nicholas I" - Incorrect, at least if interpreted literally. But I cannot find correct words to formulate the lead anew in English.
- Thon became an official architect around 1835. I.e. Nicholas had no official architects in the first decade of his reign. He probably (see next point) had such an architect in the other 2 decades, but two thirds apparently is lesser than the whole reign.
- Saying that Nicholas had an official architect and an official doctrine in architecture must add: in church architecture. Look at the abundance of architects and styles in civilian construction of his age - nothing like a single style. NVO (talk) 23:25, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
