Merge Kings of Redonda into Kingdom of Redonda?
[edit]Neither article is that long. I think the list of kings would better as a section in the Kingdom article. Thoughts? --Billpg 20:10, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- I wholeheartedly agree. --Gene_poole 06:02, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Since no-one objected, done. --Billpg 08:32, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Therefore removed link to the King_of_Redonda, as it points to itself now ;) Gulliveig 08:21, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

True size of Redonda?
[edit]CIA World Factbook says Redonda is 1.6 sq. km. while the US Library of Congress Country Studies say 2.6 sq. km. Anyone know which is the typo? This info is also on Redonda.
I believe that making sense of this depends on how exactly the "area" of this very small island is calculated. (Bear in mind that most of the island is almost sheer cliffs, or very steeply sloping land that rises from sea level to 1,000 feet within half a mile or less.) If you calculate the area as if the island was completely flat you will get one answer. If you try to work out how much total area is represented in three dimensions, no matter how steeply it slopes or how loose the rubble is, then you will get quite a different number. If you try to calculate how much actual usuable land there is on Redonda other than cliffs and rubble slopes, you will get another number again. Invertzoo (talk) 17:13, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Add controversy to "History of Redonda"?
[edit]The second paragraph for the History of Redonda seems to state as fact that the Jon Wynne-Tyson lineage of the kings of Redonda is the proper one. I'm of the opinion that this violates NPOV ( given the controversy), and that since folks are probably going to be hitting this page a lot in the next few days (given the recent news story), this bit should be cleared up. Recent new content appears to be a hoax
[edit]William Leo Timlin lives in the United States and he received the Title of King by Deed of Irrevocable Covenant from the former King Leo on September 1, 2008. His Majesty King William has declared the Kingdom an Empire and has placed it at the feet of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Fatima. His Imperial and Royal Majesty has since forbidden in perpetuity the transfer of the title out of his family. It is now a Hereditary inheritance and will pass to the Crown Prince or, in the event of his death before the Emperor, to the next in line of his children, grandchildren, etc.
The above content does not appear to be verifiable in any reliable published source. Unless someone can come up with one, I propose to delete it as a hoax. --Gene_poole (talk) 08:43, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
I support that suggestion because I also cannot find any published sources that verify any of the information in the whole section starting "William Leo Timlin lives in the United States and he received the Title of King by Deed of Irrevocable Covenant from the former King Leo on September 1, 2008. His Majesty King William has declared" and finishing "According to the last reports, Javier's guerillas have outnumbered most of the Royal units during fierce combats in the jungles of Redonda." Thank you. Invertzoo (talk) 01:12, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
NOTE to author or authors of the section on William Leo Timlin: If you cannot provide any published sources to back up your account, it will be deleted. Invertzoo (talk) 17:15, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- I have removed this section, due to the lack of any available references. It should not be re-added unless reliable sources are provided. Terraxos (talk) 03:28, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- William Leo Timlin is a Bishop in an independent Catholic church. You can find his information at: http://www.jesusfocus.org/director.htm then do a ctrl-f and type in his last name. It will take you to his information. I've also researched his IP and he uses a static IP which can be traced to other pages and incidents in those pages. You can also visit his talk page 75.73.56.39 (talk) to see a warning issued to him for doing the same thing in other pages. Kjnelan (talk) 04:11, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Vandalism by 75.73.56.39
[edit]19 July 2009 restored another section blanking on this page by 75.73.56.39. Is there someone this IP should be refered to? Kjnelan (talk) 07:11, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
List of Kings
[edit]Now, the King is Javier Marias (King Xavier I) and other writer would like to be the king. The only one who show proof of his rights to be the king. Robert Williamson only lied about a conversation. Only english people said that Robert Williamson is the king. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Guttyvic (talk • contribs) 20:54, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Have you any real source??
Guttyvic (talk) 11:45, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
- OK. Again, any RELIABLE source? And, of course, be neutral, "kingship" is disputed, so is better, if you only add your POV, and not delete POV of other claimants.--Yopie (talk) 14:44, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
I show you 3 sources (there're more in internet) and you didn't show any source, but if you read the article the actual king Robert Williamson. I show you reliable sources but for you only english source are reliable. Kingship could be disputed but now, the real king is Javier Marias. In all real countries , kingship has been disputed but there was a prper king. Try to read source from different countries not UK sources Guttyvic (talk) 15:13, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
The reference about Robert the Bold doesn't exist
Guttyvic (talk) 17:23, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
In his memoir, Finding the Words: A Publishing Life, Wilby, Norwich: Michael Russell, 2004, Chapter 8, ‘The Cause of Half Our Sorrows,’ Jon Wynne-Tyson covers his perspective on Gawsworth, Redonda and the transfer of his disputed royal claim to Javier Marías, pp 158-195. He flatly denies Bob Williamson's claim at page 176. --Johnsquires (talk) 18:20, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Reference
[edit]The reference of the false king, Robert the Bald doesn't exist. There isn't any reference about that Robert the Bald could be the king
Guttyvic (talk) 21:20, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- While he was still alive, Bob the Bald had his own website with a lot of detail about being king and the head of the Redonda Navy. Bob was centered in Antigua. I guess the website
has, subsequent to his death, been taken down. Of course itwas intended as a joke. However, basically the whole subject of the King of Redonda is almost certainly an elaborate hoax started by Shiel, who was a fantasy and science fiction writer. Invertzoo (talk)
- UPDATE: No, it seems that Bob the Bald's site is still up and running, and therefore can be used as a reference, although it is a primary source not a secondary one: [1]. Invertzoo (talk) 16:49, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
