might want to move to "King's Medal"? Accotink2 talk 20:26, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I wouldn't think so - the present name is follows the name of the medal itself. 'King's Medal' would be too obscure and ambiguous. --Xdamrtalk 23:25, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- i see your point, however: "The King's medal was issued in two versions: The King's Medal for Courage in the Cause of Freedom and the King's Medal for Service in the Cause of Freedom." [1] can't find an "official" source to clarify. would be nice to have a list, or history article. Accotink2 talk 01:50, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- That characterisation, the 'Service' and the 'Courage' medals being versions of each other, is not quite correct. Compare the 'Courage' medal with the 'Service' medal. Other than the standard King's head obverse, the two share little in common in terms of design or ribbon. While they were awarded for the same broad class of action (service to the allied cause), the hazard or nature of the service rendered governed which medal was awarded. In that regard it is not at all dissimilar to eg, the award of the Victoria Cross vs the Military Cross - same type of action, but different levels of hazard/bravery involved.
- That said, it would be nice to add a little more content for these rather interesting medals. I'll have to take a look and see if I have anything to pad the articles out with.

- i agree, and it does point out the confusion of the sources, if it's widely misreported that way, perhaps an "aka" is warranted, also it points out the possibility of a merged article, with both medals as sections, and a split when there is enough content. i leave it to you since you are the expert.
