Removing Authors That Write Similar Fiction
[edit]I don't really see why Kim Harrison's article should be an advertisement for other authors in the same genre. I've never seen that in any other Wiki articles about authors, so I'm removing it.

Dawn Cook/Kim Harrison
[edit]Dawn Cook and Kim Harrison are the same person, according to the Locus Index.[1] Biblio.com agrees.[2] Amazon says that Dawn is actually "Kim Harrison Cook" -- apparently both names are pseudonyms, but Kim Harrison is closer to her "real name".[3] But the Santa Clara County Library says that her real name is Dawn Cook and that Kim Harrison is the pseudonym.[[4]] Handeebks.com says that one name is an aka for the other.[5] I think it's fair to say that one is definitely a pseudonym for the other. Doing a Google search, more biographical information is available for Kim Harrison (there isn't any available for Dawn Cook), so I'm personally inclined to believe that Dawn Cook is the pseudonym. As such, I'm inclined to turn the recently created Dawn Cook article into a redirect to this article. Banaticus (talk) 23:02, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- As added to the article recently, Harrison is now on the record about being the same person as Cook, having discussed it in an interview in Locus. She's still coy about who's the pseudonym and who's not (or if both are), however. RossPatterson (talk) 23:33, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Merged
[edit]I have merged the Dawn Cook article into this one. Talk:Dawn Cook contains much of the discussion leading up to this merger. If someone wants to do a history merge, it could be a good thing.LadyofShalott 17:18, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Birthday
[edit]Since Aleta undid my "probably born" information, I will note it here so it doesn't get lost. A reliably documented birthdate seems not to exist.
I found many birthday greetings on her home page on August 11th, this is for me a proof that the date is right (but the blog is not archived, so this is volatile information).
The year IS documented on http://www.librarything.com/author/harrisonkim and corresponds with the age 42 (as of August 30th, 2008) on her myspace page, so I think 1966 can be seen as secure information. Use this or not, I don't care anymore. --Rolf b (talk) 20:44, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Please be aware of WP:BLP#People who are relatively unknown and WP:BLP#Privacy of personal information. Aleta's removal of the information was appropriate. --Marc Kupper|talk 16:12, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
