Wikipedia's quality standards

[edit]

This article is based on obituaries and biographic / encyclopedic works, the youngest one published 97 years ago. No mention of the real aims of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Instead we find statements like "She bore her full share of the burdens placed on the community by the Civil War and its eventualities", which belong in an obituary, but not in an encyclopedia. Rosiestep, although I'm critical of this article, I appreciate your efforts to add articles which were missing. Rsk6400 (talk) 07:00, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality

[edit]

None of the sources is younger than 97 years. All those sources originated inside a close-knit White society of people engaged in falsifying history, see Lost Cause of the Confederacy or United Daughters of the Confederacy. The article doesn't mention that the "Confederate Memorial affairs" were in no way innocent. It's aim was clearly (as stated by nearly all 21st-century historians) to ensure White supremacy.
