[edit]There is certainly a profound lack of understanding on part of the person who has added a blogger's thought's no less to a article about one of the most politically inflammable regions. The only that should have been mentioned in this article is why Pakistan actually has a holiday on this day. As for Kashmir not being a part of India, I am sure there are enough places to discuss just that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.56.160.82 (talk) 08:14, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Reference to Indian occupation
[edit]An editor at IP address 92.4.41.219 has been trying to add the term "illegal occupation" to this article. It may well be that the part of Kashmir under Indian control is illegally occupied, but this article is not the place to discuss that. The article Kashmir conflict presents the various points of view on that subject. This article is about the solidarity day, not the general situation. There's no need to introduce any wording that states or implies that the Indian presence is either legal or illegal. Phil Bridger (talk) 22:26, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Section on Kashmir dispute
[edit]The entire section on "Kashmir dispute in historical perspective" is wp:undue here. The article on Kashmir dispute already covers the subject amply. This section should give a "main article" link and summarise that article. Kautilya3 (talk) 13:05, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Strike
[edit]An IP added this statement:
In 1991, the then-Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif called for a "Kashmir Solidarity Day Strike".[1]

Samee restored it after my revert. In my opinion, somebody "calling for a strike" is WP:NEWS. If the strike happened, and it is notable in some way, that needs to be added and explained. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:17, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
Kashmir Solidarity Day - India's request to cancel event in British Parliament denied
[edit]I have added a section on India's request being denied by UK parliament for Kashmir Solidarity Day celebration in UK Parliament. However it has been reverted by Kautilya3.
I have seen the contributions by Kautilya3, i believe he is passionate about this topic and could be biased.
I would request any other member from neutral background to look into this wp:con .

- Hello Credauth, welcome to Wikipedia. Please note the edit summary of my revert:
(see) WP:NOTNEWS; if something interesting happens at the event, we might include it
. Whenever a blue link of the form WP:... is given to you, you are being referred to a policy or guideline. You need to read it and follow it. You also need to read and follow the various policies given to you in the Welcome message on your talk page. If you are going to be working on India-Pakistan topics, this is a requirement. - My revert has nothing to do with "countries" or "passions" or whatever. It is simply that the content you have added is not encyclopedic. As I also said, if something interesting happens at the event, then we might include it. Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 12:36, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hello Kautilya3, thanks for sharing the articles, its quite useful.
- In respect to the outcome of the event you have requested, here is one of the article describing the outcome of event last year.[1]
- Secondly, i have seen some accidental edits from mobile / ip, do you think we should add this page under semi-protection or pending changes? As you are aware that the Kashmir day is approaching, i would request to add this page under protection.
- I am here to learn and contribute. Guide me when ever you feel its appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Credauth (talk • contribs)

- Last year's event can be certainly covered, but not unduly. The event has been going on for a couple of decades. So no particular year can be given OVERWEIGHT. As for the UK side of the event, you might want to research into how long it has been happening and who are the people behind the organisation and what their views are. Please remember that an encyclopedia needs to summarise, not just reproduce information. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 13:46, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
- Kautilya3 thanks for your guidance. As suggested, i will draft summaries on previous events, active organization and their views. I am also thinking of adding summary on events organized in Pakistan on Kashmir Day. Guide me if make any mistake. thanks again.

About your Third Opinion request: The request made at Third Opinion has been removed (i.e. declined). Like all other moderated content dispute resolution venues at Wikipedia, Third Opinion requires thorough talk page discussion before seeking assistance. While there's been some discussion in this section about past events, the discussion about the particular dispute listed at 3O (the proposed UK event) is minimal and when discussion about conduct rather than content is disregarded, the discussion is anything but thorough. — TransporterMan (TALK) 18:50, 6 February 2019 (UTC) (Not watching this page)
Invalid Reference - Kashmir Day was first proposed by the Jamaat-e-Islami party in Pakistan in 1990.
[edit]Hello Kautilya3, I have gone through article and can't find a reference of 'being first proposed by Jamat-e-Islami' in referenced citation. Please guide.

- There were two citations given. One link was dead and irrelevant. I removed it. The other one has the info. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 21:26, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
LeT as a Terror organisation.
[edit]Multiple IP editors have made edits removing references to LeT as a terror organisation. I have reverted the edits, and requested autoconfirmed edit protection.Captain Jack Sparrow (talk) 15:31, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
