Quindaro?

[edit]

Quindaro_Townsite might deserve mention in history or as a neighborhood? Anyone for finding a map of the neighborhoods? 2605:6000:3D13:1300:45C4:9A6E:6F7B:14DF (talk) 05:24, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A city of 100,000 is probably not big enough to justify a separate article on neighborhoods. Especially as it stands with only one source. Suggested merge list to main city article. Grey Wanderer (talk) 16:51, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done, page was a duplicate. Reywas92Talk 02:47, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Whitewashing the police by removing Golubski

[edit]

@Schierbecker: Removing the section on "Golubski scandal" is POV editing. I'm reverting your deletion of that section. DavidMCEddy (talk) 16:24, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not POV editing. It's undue weight and recentism. Perhaps the KC Police Department article can be spun off and it can be mentioned there. Schierbecker (talk) 21:44, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would argue that it is important to include because it was a federal trial that revolved around allegations of police misconduct over the course of decades. I see that @HapHaxion just added an undue weight banner. So I am curious as to HapHaxion's thoughts are on the matter. I think it is pretty neutral in tone and content but I am curious what other editors thoughts are on the subject since the last time this was discussed was back in June. Middle Mac CJM (talk) 17:02, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Completely undue. This article is about a city, not a police force. Remove it. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:02, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mean the police force is a part of the city's government. I feel that a police force is often very integrated within a city. Just as much as the parks department and the parks within a city are notable. Middle Mac CJM (talk) 20:22, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WP:USCITIES is the guideline for US cities. This sort of out-of-scope content is not appropriate. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:50, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at the guidelines and I agree @Magnolia677! I'm relatively new here and so I appreciate the help! I will remove the scandal section entirely and move it to the Kansas City Police Department Article. Middle Mac CJM (talk) 17:58, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'd wait a few days for a clear consensus. Also, Kansas City Police Department (Kansas) doesn't have an article. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:06, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops, my bad. I'll revert my edit Middle Mac CJM (talk) 18:08, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
