Director

[edit]

There's no official confirmation that Alex Pillai directed Joy to the World. He isn't listed on the episode's page on the official Doctor Who website. Only the writer and the executive producers are listed on it. Spectritus (talk) 12:42, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I didn't find that info in articles from reliable news sources like the BBC, Radiotimes, Digitalspy, etc. Spectritus (talk) 12:43, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"Official" sources are not the only sources that are defined reliable per WP:V and WP:RS. If that were the case, very little content concerning behind-the-scenes would be considered "legitimate" by your standards. -- Alex_21 TALK 22:20, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex 21 In that case, what sources have you found? Spectritus (talk) 22:26, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See the article. Cheers. -- Alex_21 TALK 22:26, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Spectritus BBC listing "Director Alex Sanjiv Pillai" -- Alex_21 TALK 08:11, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex 21 Alright. Sorry for wasting your time. Spectritus (talk) 12:47, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Humour

[edit]

The sink-plunger joke and the collection of police box models are each worthy of mention, if we can find sources. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:18, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Claiming this one though due to both on and off wiki commitments I may not get around for a few days. But also just wondering if you are aware that the turnaround for this article is only four days? There will presumably be more content released in the near future. Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 08:39, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am, but beyond consolidated viewing figures and maybe more reviews, I don't expect that much more content. The production section feels relatively complete. Boom, 73 Yards, and Dot and Bubble were all nominated for GAN less than a week after the episode aired. TheDoctorWho (talk) 04:13, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This was a single release while the others were week to week but otherwise fair enough. Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 22:27, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]
Beef up that third paragraph. Needs reception and ratings info.  Partly done Added RT info, ratings info was reverted until final numbers are available
The phrase "new companion" makes it seem like Joy will be sticking around but the rest of the article makes it seem shes a one off character.  Done
alt text is present  Done

Plot

[edit]
Well under the 400 word limit  Done
Maybe rephrase "The briefcase reveals itself to be of Villengard origin, with plans to detonate a "star seed" to use as an energy source, using the hotel's time travel to allow it to grow in the past." Villengard being refrneced makes no sense to someone reading the article who is unfamiliar  Done

Production

[edit]
Ref 17 link Mashable  Done
Maybe add an image of Coughlan  Done
Development seems more like a "Writing" section  Done

Reception

[edit]
Should be "The A.V. Club" not "A.V. Club" change this in the references as well.  Done
IGN doenst use stars replace with "9/10"  Done
Rewrite "The writing was also applauded by Adi Tantimedh, who writing for Bleeding Cool, said "Moffat pins down the core of what makes Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor different from all his predecessors.""  Done

@TheDoctorWho: that's all I got Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 22:28, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I'll get to this in the next day or two! TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:37, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you ever going to get around to this? It's been open since last year! Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 00:26, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@OlifanofmrTennant: An entire year‽‽‽ Must've gotten sidetracked in the TARDIS, hope you'll accept my sincerest apologies. Another editor beat me to two and a half of these in a copyedit of the article, I've wrapped up everything else. I can add viewership to the lead as soon as final numbers are available on Thursday (which I already planned to do). Not sure whether you want to wait 'til that's added before continuing or if my plan for it will work for you.
Either way, before you close it, can you at least spot check a few of the sources? This article would be great for my first points in the Cup. TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:59, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
