Nationality
[edit]We make him exclusively US American: call him American in the lead, assign him American nationality in the infobox, and put him in American categories. I added to the lead that he resides in Austria "from the 1970s" (we later say "a few years" after 1971 marriage) --replacing a note that he also writes short stories! He is a published writer only during these 40 years.
- We now identify no publishers. His first novel was published in 1980, years after he emigrated, with US-based Viking Press, now in Penguin Group.
- He graduated from Rutgers (US state univ) and married Barbara Schreiner (german surname) in the same year, soon moved to Vienna. Was she a Rutgers student from Austria? Did they raise any children?
- He taught "literature" at the American International School of Vienna, at least in the 1970s. Does that mean American literature? or English-language or more general? Does he continue to teach at AIS or to teach Am lit? if not, how long did he?
- Does he remain a US citizen only?
