Notability
[edit]Tagged as not notable but this is the 2nd most infamous outlaw in US history. The quality of the content here surpasses 70% of Wikipedia's articles --204.191.190.159 (talk) 01:48, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
- Agreed. I actually removed this section FROM the main article as it is trivial, pop culture stuff that has little to do with the article's subject. GenQuest (talk) 17:14, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
- I believe with the latest addition of references/citations, the "notability issue" has been addressed. GenQuest (talk) 04:35, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Radio
[edit]I don't know if this warrants a section for radio portrayals, but on the June 12, 1944 episode of The Lone Ranger was about John Wesley Hardin, including incidents where a young Hardin met up with The Lone Ranger and Tonto where the Lone Ranger shot Hardin's gun out of his hands. I don't know how accurate any of the other information regarding Hardin's life was true, although Hardin was shot and killed by John Selman in an El Paso, Texas saloon. The reason for Selman killing Hardin was that Hardin had approached Selman several years earlier and was embarrassed by the meeting. Hardin went to Selman's father ranch "south of the Big Bend" and shot Selman's father in cold blood, leaving a nickel in Selman's father's hand. The nickel was because during the earlier encounter between Hardin and Selman, Selman gave Hardin a nickel to buy a lollipop. Jtyroler (talk) 20:10, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
