COI Disclosure and Notability
[edit]I work for WhiteHatWiki, which was hired by the Keck School of Medicine to submit this proposed draft for review by independent editors at WP:AFC for possible inclusion on Wikipedia. This biographical article meets notability under four categories of WP:Notability (academics)#Criteria. The article subject holds the Leon J. Tiber and David S. Alpert Chair (5th and 6th criteria); he has a citation h-index of 40, which is considered “outstanding” by the authoritative source on the subject, and an indicator of major impact in a scientific discipline (1st criterion); and the general press has regularly called on his expertise (criterion 3) to cover hearing and ear-related issues, e.g., New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Verge, and Rolling Stone. I have left snippets of paywalled content below. W12SW77 (talk) 20:34, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

Request to remove warning box
[edit]What I think should be changed:
Please remove the warning box at the top of this article concerning “paid editing”.
Why it should be changed:
As the person with a disclosed COI involved with this article, I have repeatedly disclosed my professional involvement with Oghalai and have followed all relevant policies and best practices (as defined in WP:COIEDIT) in proposing this article’s draft on the AfC queue for review by independent editors. The article itself was recently reviewed there and approved by User:DoubleGrazing, and since then I have made no edits to the page.
I have carefully reviewed the page again for issues with WP:NPOV, WP:RS, or other policy violations and I see none that are obvious. Since the editor who placed the flag has not started a discussion about it Talk, it can be removed: “Tags must be accompanied by either a comment on the article's talk page explaining the problem and beginning a discussion on how to fix it or, for simpler and more obvious problems, a remark using the reason parameter (available in all templates, regardless of whether it appears in the documentation) as shown below. At the very least, tagging editors must be willing to follow through with substantive discussion.”
As I said, this page was recently reviewed at AfC by X, but I am happy to have a substantive discussion with User:Timtrent, who placed the flag, and DoubleGrazing. Absent any specific issues raised in the discussion, the flag should be removed. WP:TC, which states: “Cleanup tags are meant to be temporary notices that lead to an effort to fix the problem, not a permanent badge of shame”. W12SW77 (talk) 03:50, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- I've looked over the text, and have no objection to the tag being removed, but would prefer Timtrent to do that, or at least consent to it, as the tagger. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:59, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing I have removed that but have replaced it with an Orphan tag. That was "present" but not displaying. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:11, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- @W12SW77 You will notice that I have fleshed out the full set of parameters in {{Connected contributor (paid)}}. Please reflect that in your other work for reward. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:16, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
