John Glenn on Recruiting Female Astronauts

Glenn's statement before the House Space Committee was not in response to Valentina Tereshkova's flight. That flight took place in June 1963, the hearing happened in 1962. The Americans had intel that the Soviets were training female cosmonauts. Will re-word. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 23:20, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
I did not expect to read all that when I opened it. I may have some additional edits to make, if I can find sources that adequately summarize the committee hearing above. I presume it is not proper to summarize it myself since it is a primary source of that information. Kees08 (Talk) 05:54, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Education?

The infobox says "Education: Muskingum University (BS)" but as far as the article says, he was never awarded a BS. He studied for it but didn't finish it before enlisting in WWII. He was later awarded an honorary LL.D from Muskingum University. As far as I know, the education infobox line is supposed to only list the degree if it was actually awarded? ~ LukeShu (talk) 05:27, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

See note (a), which says: "Muskingum awarded his degree in 1962, after Glenn's Mercury space flight." Hawkeye7 (discuss) 05:35, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
