  • ... that football player Joe Hall, whose position was running back, weighed up to 340 pounds (150 kg) during his career? Source: Janssen, Mark (November 18, 2001). "Let's all hope Hall speaks the truth". The Manhattan Mercury. p. 11, 13 – via Newspapers.com. ("Of his weight that busted through the 300-barrier quicker than one can say, 'Big Mac, Whopper, Wendy's-triple ... and add a pizza, too,' Hall became a 340-pounder this past summer. Today, he only says, 'A lot,' when asked about his weight.")
    • ALT1: ... that despite having never played football before, Joe Hall was able to convince his high school junior varsity coach to let him play and scored 35 touchdowns? Source: Courtney, Will (December 3, 1998). "He's one Hall of a load". North County Times. p. 25, 29 – via Newspapers.com. ("He had never played football before his freshman year of high school, but convinced the coaches to let him play running back and promptly scored 35 touchdowns for the junior varsity, with hardly a cutback or a juke")
    • ALT2: ... that football player Joe Hall was described as "the largest running back to ever rush for 100 yards in an NCAA game"? Source: "Joe Hall". Palomar College. • Comment: This one was fun. I found a declined COI draft in poor shape from several months ago, and spent three days turning it into a decent c-class article. I'll try to get a qpq soon.

Notes

[edit]
  • Added the Commons cat
  • Where did you get Jr from in his name?
    • I was thinking that if his son was Joe Hall III, then he would have had to have been Jr. – but I just noticed that his personal website is "joehalljr.com" so that confirms it.
  • How did you come up with the weight range in the infobox? PFA says 300. That seems reasonable.
    • I think I was taking the lowest he weighed during his career and the highest, but I changed it to 300.
  • If we're breaking up the colleges in the infobox on two separate lines, we might as well add the years to each college
    • Done.
  • "Weighing 265 pounds by high school" I don't see where in that clipping it says 265 lbs
  • "at Artesia HS" spell out high school
    • Done.
  • Change to first team all american in infobox?
    • Done.
  • "but then at the last minute the University" comma after minute
    • Done.
  • "Upon returning to the Chiefs, he was placed on the injured reserve list, where he spent the entire season" that source doesnt say he spent the whole season
    • You're right, changed.
  • "the Oakland Raiders, his final team,[1] in 2006, spending the season on injured reserve" I don't see on either one of those sources where it says injured reserve
  • I guess you couldn't find date spans for his coaching career?
    • Wasn't able to.
  • "including Joe III" that's a lot of commas for that sentence but I suggest a comma after Joe III
    • Added.

That's all I think. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 06:32, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
