Bias
[edit]To me, this paints the person in question in too negative a light and not a neutral one as this and all articles are supposed to be written. Is there a way to change it to more of a neutral perspective?

Seconding this comment. There isn't a universe in which I would vote for her but even I can see it's slanted. Ghbrown60640 (talk) 03:46, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Paragraph about fundraiser with NRATV host Bill Whittle
[edit]On Feb. 1, 2018, user Sdanderson20 posted the following text at the bottom of Jeanne Ives’ article:
On February 1, 2017. Ives hosted a fundraiser with NRATV host Bill Whittle. Whittle has promoted the racist notion that black people are inherently intellectually inferior to people of other races and suggested that races could be divided along the lines of "civilized man" and "barbarian."[87] This comes after a previous fundraiser with conservative radio host Mike Gallagher, who came under fire of accusations of racism and Islamophobia after stating that airports ought to have a "Muslims Only" line in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, saying "It's time to have a Muslims check-point line in America's airports and have Muslims be scrutinized. You better believe it, it's time."[88]
Both references (87 and 88) do not mention Jeanne Ives at all. Her name doesn’t appear even once in either story. Furthermore, according to this Chicago Tribune article published yesterday (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/politics/ct-met-jeanne-ives-20180201-story.html), Rep. Ives canceled the fundraiser with Bill Whittle when she learned about his remarks. Thus, saying that she hosted a fundraiser with him is a lie.
As such, I am deleting the paragraph. Without the mention of Ives, the information about the two racists is non-germane to the article, so that will be deleted as well. --Michael Powerhouse (talk) 15:48, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- It also blatantly violates WP:NPOV to call those people "racist", etc., and both of those people are what would be considered mainstream conservative/pro-Trump activists. --1990'sguy (talk) 04:24, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
