Personal life

[edit]

An anonymous editor keeps delet ing the entire section citing Wikipedia:BLPPRIVACY. However, if you read the policy and the note son it, you will find that the policy is about revealing date of birth and contact information, which are not present in the section. Further, even if there are policy issues, WP:PRECISE and related policy statements encourage surgical compliance edits, not broad removal of entire sections. I propose that if there is specific content that is at issue, such issues shoudl be discussed here before doing a full revert of or removal of the section. I have restored it on believe that there are no actual policy violations present. If there are, point them out exactly for discussion, and fixes can then be made. If I am shown to be wrong, after further discussion, I will agree wholeheartedly to removal of all the material. Dovid (talk) 16:26, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Investiture ceremony controversy

[edit]

Hi Fravia22, I disagree with your edits. We have to develop a consensus on what to add here. I'm sharing my reasoning of removal below (in bold):

  • "As the President of Emerson College, Bernhardt became the source of much controversy." - It is a subjective statement
  • "On the day of his investiture ceremony, a protest for Palestinian liberation" - as per my understanding it was about tuition and aid, not Palestine issue
  • "led to the arrest of 13 individuals, 12 of which were Emerson students. Additionally, 11 of those arrested were people of color." - firstly, it is a WP:POV description and secondly this is not verifiable by the cited reference"
  • "Tensions continued to rise" - Subjective statement"
  • "eventually culminating in the arrest of 118 students by the Boston Police Department on April 25, 2024." - irrelevant to Bernhardt as they were arrested by BPD and state troopers
  • "The perceived lack of support and safety provided by Bernhardt was criticized heavily by students" - again subjective
  • "leading to the Student Government Association calling for his resignation. As of October 2024, he still acts as the President, even amidst continued criticism - subjective and already dated. I don't think we should mention "As of October 2024"
