COI
[edit]I have a conflict of interest with the subject of this article, but I don't think it takes an incredible lack of bias to see what's happened to this page. User:ScottNAtlanta made some pretty drastic changes back in 2014 that violate a number of WP principles. A huge amount of weight is being given to a section on campaign differences with a very negative slant, and a number of sentences have little or nothing to do with Jones herself. I'm happy to further discuss this with anyone who's interested, and will remove myself from editing this article if that is suggested. For now, I'm going to remove the SPA's addition and add other content. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 14:08, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
Removing Contributions of Note section
[edit]So beyond the SPA issues, this section is a very clear violation of WP:WEIGHT. Three paragraphs are entirely negative in tone and massive stretches have been made to include tangential facts about people who are related to donations. I'm not sure why at all it's relevant that "Leslie Aycox is listed in disclosure forms as 'Home Maker'." The AFC section is sourced to a wiki and includes information about the chair of the group, which isn't relevant to an article on Jan Jones. The Republic Report source has nothing to do with Jones. I'm not sure there's anything worth salvaging from here; donations from the payday industry are a very small percentage of her fundraising. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 15:18, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
