I have moved this article from Category:Irish Liberal Party MPs to Category:Whig (British political party) MPs for Irish constituencies. The Athlone constituency article indicates that he was elected as a Whig in 1832, the only election at which he was elected a member of parliament. Generally 1859 is given as the date of the founding of the Liberal Party (although the label liberal was much older, albeit very inconstantly applied) and the end of the Whigs as a party, with nearly all Whigs joining with Radicals, Irish Independents and Peelites to become Liberals. Thus while Talbot was indeed a Liberal politician later in his career, it seems likely he would have been considered a Whig while he sat as an MP, so the latter category is more appropriate.
