I'll let the copyright police argue about whether or not it's appropriate to include the lyrics in this article. I vote that we shouldn't. If we do, they should be formatted better than they are. Joe 18:46, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
The main header should conform to the MoS
[edit]And I don't know how to go about changing that. Little help, please? Skywatcher68 (talk) 05:20, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Found a reference to a poem published by James Pierpont in 1857 with same title. Here's the URL I found on Google >>> http://www.the-north-pole.com/carols/look.html. This would seem to predate the Wiki Article about this song. Hope this helps. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cwruvuuofcgsb (talk • contribs) 02:09, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- The information at that link is in error. Pierepont could not have written "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" unless he could see into the future.
- There's a reference in the lyrics to "the five-and-ten" -- the first "five-and-ten" didn't come into existence until more than 20 years after the date given for the lyrics.
- There's another reference to the term "hopalong", which didn't come into existence until 1912 -- 55 years after the date given.
- James Pierpont wrote Jingle Bells in 1857.
- Meredith Wilson wrote It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas in 1951.

Missing information
[edit]Every article about a piece of music should have at least a SAMPLE of the original score included, and any article about a song should include the lyrics, or at least a representative verse/chorus. Lacking these, the article is worthless other than as a source of copyright information, and there are more efficient ways of finding that than using Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.43.253 (talk) 23:15, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
