2004 transfers to Bangladesh
[edit]It seems that the new names of Guernsey and Lindisfarne, as Sangu and Turag respectively, may have been transposed. The name matching was added here in 2010, see diff, but with no reference - and there is no reliable referencing covering this in BNS Sangu or BNS Turag. I have, however, been told that this matching is supported by Janes.
However, I noticed that, with the two ships having been allocated IMO numbers, IMO 7516321 is allocated to "Turag ex-Guernsey" and IMO 7516333 to "Sangu ex-Lindisfarne" (primary). The Miramar Ship Index (also normally reliable) has similar, as does GlobalSecurity.org here.
Looking for contemporary media reports, I so far only found two, both of which have the Turag/Guernsey match: BBC News and the Guernsey Press. Any thoughts on additional sources on this question? Davidships (talk) 17:08, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
