Greek community
[edit]This section is unusual for an article about big universities. The contents of the Greek part are mostly unreferenced and since it is just a rote list of various fraternities and sororities without any further detail, I question whether there is any useful information being shared here. I propose deletion. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 18:48, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Since no one chimed in on this one, I will go ahead and streamline. --Melchior2006 (talk) 06:33, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
Boosterism Discussion
[edit]This page was tagged with Template:Academic booster by User:GuardianH this previous July. Thank you for tagging. I noticed there was no discussion thread on the Talk Page, and wanted to start one. The Wikipedia:Avoid academic boosterism page gives good guidance. [[Category:GA-Class Higher education articles]] has good examples as a starting point for reference. Ehler (talk) 21:52, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

Iowa State University → Iowa State – WP:COMMONNAME. Theparties (talk) 14:12, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The full name provides a WP:TITLECON consistent naming convention across all articles on universities and colleges in the United States. Many reliable sources like Forbes and US News and World Report still use the full name. The OP has also made numerous individual RMs on this same issue like this one, which may violate WP:ACROTITLE or use a shorter common name that is rarely used outside a sports/athletic context. Better to stick to the status quo. Zzyzx11 (talk) 14:48, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose as unnecessary, unwise, and confusing for readers. ElKevbo (talk) 14:57, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose, per the comments of Zzyzx11. —Eyer (he/him) If you reply, add

to your message. 16:17, 22 December 2024 (UTC) - Oppose per WP:TITLEFORMAT#Avoid ambiguous abbreviations, WP:ACROTITLE, and what Zzyzx11 said. I see no reason why we need to make the title more ambiguous, since the proposed title is literally also the name of a state. – Epicgenius (talk) 15:58, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
