Models
[edit]I removed the mention of there being a G50 or Q37 model under "Current Models." These models have never existed and Infiniti has never given the Q50 either of these monikers. Furthermore, Infiniti no longer badges AWD models with a lowercase "x"; instead, they have an AWD badge elsewhere on the decklid for their coupes and sedans.
I replaced it with some of the options, although really, all of the following are Q50 models and maybe someone has a better way to list them:
- Q50 3.7
- Q50 3.7 AWD
- Q50 3.7 Premium
- Q50 3.7 Premium AWD
- Q50S 3.7
- Q50S 3.7 AWD
- Q50 Hybrid Premium
- Q50 Hybrid Premium AWD
- Q50S Hybrid
- Q50S Hybrid AWD
Article comments
[edit]. These made it competitive against the comparatively uninspiring engines and interiors found in German imports like BMW and Mercedes-Benz, also nissan is one of these vehicles.

The Q45 had retreated considerably from its focused, taut rendition of an executive sedan, having become a barely recognizable, ponderously-handling sedan that earned the nickname "The Japanese Lincoln."
While I wouldn't argue the car had lost its focus, anyone have a source for this nickname outside the Wiki? I only found one, and that seeme dto be lifted from the wiki, not vice-versa. 12.44.12.126
Note: At the time this sobriquet was earned, I was working for Nissan's ad agency (Chiat/Day) and we heard this from focus groups of consumers.
The article appears to have been written without regard for reality.
Very Bad
[edit]This is possibly the worst article about a major topic I have ever seen on Wikipedia. Needs extensive cleaning, fact-checking, and removal of original research and opinions.

I tend to agree. I did some cleaning already, but there's lots more to be done. I also worked at Chiat/Day and heard the "Japanese Lincoln" comment from focus groups.
I agree with this as well. There are numerous run-on sentences, a lack of real facts, and opinions galore from someone who owns an Infiniti. In addition, the sentence about how the I30 and J30 sold poorly is untrue, the I30 did very well, and the J30 only did poorly because it was a poor car. Neither car caused Infiniti to lose all following.
Also, the paragraph about the M30 is truly just garbage, full of opinion.

European specifications
[edit]Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to incorporate European specifications? Up to now, the Inifniti pages have been written from a very North American point of view which is understandable given the brand's historical presence there. However, now that Infiniti are launching in Europe, we need to reflect this and present European specifications as well, otherwise the content will not be accurate for all markets.
The launch models include the Infiniti FX50, EX37, G37 (sedan) and the G37 Coupe - all of which may have different specifications to their US counterparts in terms of engine size, interior styling etc.
Would it be best to create separate articles for each of these models e.g. Infiniti EX37 (European Specifications only). Or should we merge these new models into existing model content. E.g. Change Infiniti EX35 to Infiniti EX so that we can talk about both 3.5 and 3.7 litre V6 engines? Infiniti logo

“According to Infiniti, the company's logo is a combination of a stylized highway infinitely heading towards a distant horizon and a modified infinity symbol.”
The first is in the opening, last line. The second is in the second paragraph of the history section. The linked citation in the first line mentions both Fuji and the open road, but nothing about a modified infinity symbol. The evolution of Infiniti car models has been extensive in Infiniti's first 25 years. Car models, like the G35, have been retired while others just getting started.

Infiniti in Japan
[edit]This article states that Infiniti started sales in Japan in 2014. However the brand Infiniti does not exist in Japan as a standalone company or even as a Nissan sub-brand, and Nissan has no stated plans to sell Infiniti cars in Japan.
There have been a very few Nissan cars sold as "Nissan Infiniti" in Japan and this has been misreported in the foreign press as Nissan selling Infiniti cars in the Japanese market. Most of these articles seem to be from 2013 and are in direct conflict with what was reported in the Japanese press at the time. One such example from the Japanese press is this WSJ Japan article where Nissan VP Andy Palmer discussed the few "Nissan Infiniti" cars and made Nissan's intentions clear: "インフィニティを国内で本格展開するわけではない", "This is not a full scale launch of Infiniti in Japan".

Change Infiniti to INFINITI, that is how it is shown on their website/vehicles. This will make the article consistent with their branding. Kendall9121 (talk) 21:14, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
- Wikipedia doesn't play that. See MOS:TMRULES. It can say "styled as INFINITI" at the beginning, but after that, we print words in normal English. Branding is their job, not ours. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 21:54, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

The diff you've provided is an accounting of the differences between two versions of the article. Both of these versions did not exist back to back - there were, in fact, 3 intervening edits which occurred between the time that one version existed and the subsequent version existed. Thus, reassembling the individual edits from material which may have been changed means that in deciding what is to be removed, certain elements may not exist in the exact same form as they did when the first half of the diff suggests, making identification of them more difficult.
