A fact from Identity and Language (Northern Ireland) Act 2022 appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 October 2019 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Have Parts 1 and 2 come into force according to section 10(2)? The last part of this sentence is true only once this is done, not immediately after royal assent: ‘On 6 December 2022, the Act received royal assent, meaning Irish became an official language in Northern Ireland and the first Irish language commissioner was appointed’. This article grandfathered a lot of things from the earlier ideas about an Irish Language Act, but the eventual Act has moved along.
