"Coney Island of the West"
[edit]Cedar Point resort had already begun to be known as “Sandusky’s Coney Island” by 1885 during B.F.Dwelle’s management (prior to the formation of the Cedar Point Pleasure Resort Company, organized in 1887, opened in 1888), and also subsequently called “Lake Erie’s Coney Island” shortly before 1888. It was in the year 1888 when the terminology/nickname “Coney Island of the West" began to be used, but which was actually a full decade prior to Mr. Boeckling’s involvement in the resort. (However, “Coney Island of the West" was also the legal name of a different resort, circa that same time, near Waconia, Minn.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1009:B16D:882D:C878:174B:40C1:DDD4 (talk) 18:29, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
