Teen movies ?
[edit]One can see no connection of this particular pic to "teen movies" - ? --129.187.244.19 (talk) 11:59, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Looking at the references, it looks like it was one of the drag-racing films that was produced because of its appeal to teens, following up on juvenile-delinquent films. Can you add that to the article body, if you had interest in the topic? Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 12:27, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- I can only state, after seeing this movie recently, that is has a b s o l u t e l y zero to do with any teen-age persons. Or the sub-genre "teen movies". The reference number 5 (and some words about "Hot cars (1956)" in the book) must have been an error, simply because of a "similar sounding" title. Author had obviously not seen this movie, I think. --129.187.244.19 (talk) 14:42, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- This film is not being categorized as a teen film. You can look at the linked book titles for what was written about Hot Cars. "Teen" showing up in the "References" section is not an official categorization of this film as teen-related. The books' content is related to drag-racing and its appeal to the teenage moviegoing demographic. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 15:18, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- o.k. Remains the question, in which way does ref. No. 5 refer to Markel's illegal activities ? I would suggest that ref. No. 5 should be removed. It irritates more than it helps. --2001:A61:55B:2F01:4181:2158:D88E:1237 (talk) 19:10, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Pinging Lamro who added these citations. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 23:14, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Done. Let's see... --2001:A61:55B:2F01:4181:2158:D88E:1237 (talk) 23:44, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- (FYI, when I linked to their name, it notifies them. So I "pinged" them to draw their attention here.) Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 12:43, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
