I removed the quote "Only the people on the Island will ever really know what it looked like right after the storms, and most to this late date refuse to speak of it." Not only will they speak of it...often...but you can buy one of sveral coffee table type books with pictures of the devistation (proceeds going to recovery of course)Ace-o-aces 20:23, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added the phrase about the debate about the church as there is presently an Anglican Church and a Church of England in the Islands. There is an arguable case that the Anglican Church diocese does not extend to Cayman, but I am not sufficiently apprised of the technicalities of the argument. Name Origin

The main article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cayman_Islands claims that the name of the islands comes from a person named Cayman Cushing. There is no mention of this here. Isn't it more likely that the name came from the subspecies of alligator called the caiman, pronounced the same way and common to the area? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Psyden (talk • contribs) 12:16, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
