Nini/Ricky change in order
Ricky should be above Nini as he is the main character.204.137.232.186 (talk) 03:11, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Negative. We always go by credits order, which has Rodrigo first. - Jasonbres (talk) 03:12, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Rodrigo is credited first; according to Wikipedia policy we list her first. SatDis (talk) 03:12, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, Olivia is credited first. Also, I'm not sure where "Ricky is the main character" came from. Nini is the lead by all definitions. One way to tell who the lead is is by looking at the character around whom most of the storylines and other characters revolve. Almost all key characters (besides Big Red and Carlos) are directly connected to Nini as her friends, love interests, frenemies or enemies. Almost everything revolves around Nini; she is also the center of the primary love triangle. Even Ricky's storylines revolve around Nini... except for his parents thing... and even for that, it still led him to Nini's. Even if that wasn't obvious, the credits are non-debatable. - Backing this up with the Wikipedia policy: "The cast listing should be ordered according to the original broadcast credits, with new cast members being added to the end of the list. - see full set of guidelines at MOS:TVCAST. SatDis (talk) 08:44, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Linking of Beauty and the Beast
Please link Beauty and the Beast as the 1993 musical and not the 1991 film. This is because the students in the series are rehearsing for a musical and not filming a movie. Please discuss below; or any unexplained edits will be automatically reverted. SatDis (talk) 09:29, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Could someone please fix the errors in the description for Season 2, Episode 4 ("The Storm")?
1. “Ej” -> "EJ"
2. "but the two get stuck in a pile of snow during an upcoming storm, which causes a power outage at East High." -> This suggests that the power outage was caused by them getting stuck in snow. The power outage was caused by the storm.
3. “appearing on broadway” -> “appearing on Broadway”
4. “Miss Jenn reveals to Nini that she stopped dreaming about appearing on broadway after learning of Nini’s miserable and damp life at YAC” -> This is either untrue or grammatically incorrect. Miss Jenn stopped dreaming about appearing on Broadway after going to an audition and realizing she didn’t really care about it anymore; she mentions this after hearing that Nini isn't happy at YAC.
5. "instead opted to teaching students" -> "instead opted to teach students"
6. “Mr Mazzara” -> “Mr. Mazzara”
7. “With support from ricky” -> “With support from Ricky”

There are a few grammatical and speculative errors in Season 2, Episode 5 ("The Quinceañero" and Season 2, Episode 6 ("Yes, And...")'s descriptions:
1. "and his affection for her intensify" -> "and his affection for her intensifies"
2. "while E. J. realises his romantic feelings for Gina." (This can be cut entirely, as it has not been hinted or confirmed to be happening. E.J. and Gina have had a seemingly platonic relationship thus far, and this is purely speculation rather than a major plot point worth summarizing.)
3. "Now, feeling confused, Gina begins to question her connections with both Ricky and E. J." (Again, the E.J. plot is speculative and not reflective of the actual episode.)

Nina
Should we change Nini Salazar-Roberts to Nina "Nini" Salazar-Roberts since Nina is her real name, and Nini was a nickname given to her by Ricky? 2600:1700:DA60:E010:90F1:9E8D:386B:A6D9 (talk) 01:24, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- In terms of the character summaries, it needs to remain as "Nini" because that is her WP:COMMONNAME in all official summaries and press releases. For episode summaries S2 E8–12, I think it would be okay to refer to her as Nina, but not sure on that. SatDis (talk) 01:38, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
Okay, thank you! 2600:1700:DA60:E010:90F1:9E8D:386B:A6D9 (talk) 14:55, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:48, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
- This is mentioned in the plot summaries. It shouldn't be mentioned in the character descriptions, as it is a spoiler. SatDis (talk) 22:26, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

Jason Earles and Meg Donnelley have both appeared in +3 episodes. Shouldn’t they be listed under recurring characters? Also, Ben Stillwell has also appeared in +3 episodes whereas Aria Brooks and Liamani Segura are expected to be in +3 but have only appeared in 2 thus far. Should Ben be credited before them? TruthReaderr (talk) 02:58, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- The first point: Jason Earles and Meg Donnelly should both be classified as "guests", because they have established careers outside of this show, and are providing a guest appearance. The source cited within the article (here [1]) specifically states "guest star roles". They may have appeared in more than three episodes, but according to MOS:TVCAST, "A cast member or character appearing in more than one episode, or in two or more consecutive episodes, does not necessarily mean that character has a "recurring" role. An actor or character may simply have a guest role across several episodes, rather than a recurring story arc throughout the show.". I opt to use the reliable sources here.
- The second point: Ben Stillwell first appeared in episode 1 of the season, while Aria Brooks and Liamani Segura first appeared in episode 2 of the season. Therefore, I will swap the list based on the order of first appearance, and credited order, but not because of who has appeared in more episodes.
- Thanks @TruthReaderr: and hopefully that clears up your questions. SatDis (talk) 04:41, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- I would also suggest that Olivia Rodrigo and Kate Reinders are both listed as guests, even though they appear in two episodes, for the reasons listed above. They are also both credited as guests (Rodrigo is credited as a special guest). SatDis (talk) 10:19, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- SatDis, forgive me if I disagree with you, but careers outside of the show are irrelevant to what the actors bring to the show. No television show I know gives a "recurring" credit to any actor; the credits are "starring" for series regulars, and "guest star" for those actors/roles important enough in that episode (very important actors get "Special Guest Star" status, such as Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, JoJo Siwa, and now Olivia Rodrigo). Variety is only making a distinction between regulars and guests in the article you cite, and says nothing about recurring roles here; their failure to make the distinction is not a license to assume there isn't one to be made. Note that this same article refers to "returning cast members", making no distinction between regulars Bassett, Wylie, et al., and Special Guest Star Rodrigo or guest stars Reinders and Keegan (and the omitted Serafini). Meg Donnelly's arc with Julia Lester is certainly worthy of recurring status even if she hadn't already appeared in five of the seven episodes. Jason Earles has been appearing regularly enough to qualify even without a "story arc"; think of him as the moral equivalent of the school principal in season 1, only appearing much more frequently. As for Corbin, he's actively driving the entire season with the Disney+ documentary; even if he's only appeared in three episodes to date, he's been a driving force in his last two appearances: recurring by the very definition you've cited.
- What I am sure of is that your "guidelines" for recurring in season 3 are inconsistent with the article's usage for seasons 1 and 2: looking at the pre-existing list for recurring characters in the first two seasons, some of them only appeared in three episodes in longer seasons, and don't fit the "recurring story arc" definition you cite, so you're going against the pre-existing local consensus in changing standards for season 3.
- Finally, you undid my edits to the various character descriptions, and that isn't appropriate even in citing this discussion. I'll be restoring them, even while leaving the three actors and their roles under Guest for the moment per WP:BRD. I noticed that the descriptions echoed the Variety article, but (especially in Dewey's characterization) really don't match the broadcast episodes, and that's what truly matters in character descriptions. - @BlueMoonset: Thanks for the response and apologies for undoing your edits. I appreciate all of the points you have made - you have convinced me! Perhaps some other editors may have thoughts to share also. SatDis (talk)
