Current name for species

[edit]

It appears from the New Zealand Organisms Register that the current accepted name for this species is Heterocrossa eriphylla Meyrick, 1888. I refer any other editors to Volume 9 of the Insects of Hawai where Zimmerman, on page 797 argues that the Heterocrassa genus should not a synonym of Carposina as the genitalia in this genus are distinctive. This was accepted by Dugdale in Lepidoptera - annotated catalogue, and keys to family-group taxa as well as in the 2012 publication New Zealand Inventory of Biodiversity. Unless other editors have an objection I propose editing this article to reflect this.Ambrosia10 (talk) 02:39, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In the future, please consider bundling similar requests per procedure at WP:RM#CM; I understand that it took several days to research, but moving one by one could have resulted in inconsistency. Non-experts were unlikely to object, anyway. Thanks. No such user (talk) 12:11, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
