Expanding this article
[edit]I'm going to translate the German Wikipedia article into English to give this article a rough expansion. Let me know if things aren't going well. Feralcats 19:07, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
O-umlaut spelling
[edit]We've got the standard O-umlaut thing that says "The title of this article contains the character ö. Where it is unavailable or not desired, the name may be represented as Herbert Groenemeyer." In the light of that, it seems especially odd that the article's spelling keeps bouncing between the two. Can't it just settle on Grönemeyer, given that the note gives people the get-out if they can't do "ö"? love, 138.37.199.206 08:46, 18 September 2007 (UTC) (with the dreadful yet strangely addictive "Dance Chaos" hammering away in the background).
"Thick accent"? Ouch!
[edit]I know it is not meant offensively but this comes over as a bit judgemental, POV and Anglocentric:
"The three re-recorded albums "What's all this", "Luxus" and "Chaos" for the English-speaking market featured a thick accent and were met with limited sales success."
I am not wild about Herbie singing in Englisch either, but for other reasons, and I am not sure that the above version is really very enyclopaedic. I am going to change it, and will look for changes back or discussion if you think this was wrong. Tschüss! 138.37.199.206 08:50, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Lack of important information
[edit]This article suffer from the typical disease of wikipedia biographies - there are not enough information about his work. If he recorded the album, the style and specificities of the album should be described. Ono should be able to recognize whether he is interested in the works of the author or not. Is it jazz, free jazz, instrumental jazz, new age, uptempo, sax dominated, bossa nova, mixed, what? The fact whether work was popular is important, but less important than work itself. --78.1.127.135 (talk) 22:36, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
More carefull use of words
[edit]First thing to notice was the phrase "of all time" - i know it's already marked, but those wrods should never be used, no matter were. No human can possibly determine, if anything happens in a certain way in the future. Of all time is not a phrase, that should ever be used at wikipedia. I think it's the best to change it to - "so far best selling record..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.83.143.15 (talk) 19:05, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Merger proposal
[edit]I propose that Herbert Grönemeyer Discography be merged into Herbert Grönemeyer. There is already a discography section in the Herbert Grönemeyer article, so a separate discography page would be a WP:content fork. Moreover, separating the discogrphy from the bio is confusing and is not done in most other musician pages. Andreas (T) 16:02, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Oppose Hello, I think it would be better just to list his studio album in the main article and link to the discography article. That's how it's done for most artists with a long discography.
for example:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles

Oppose. Separate and detailed discography pages are in fact the standard for long discographies so as to not clutter up the main article on the artist. See Mary J. Blige discography, Metallica discography, Pink discography, Sting discography, and so on.
We should reduce the discography section in this article to the albums and otherwise link to the discography article. De728631 (talk) 17:06, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Oppose The Discography page should stay, and I also believe that the discography that is now in the main article should be shortened. This should only list the main studio albums. Mark in wiki (talk) 17:17, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
