I think we should have a conversation about what is presented here as her birth name and what is her “other” name. From what I gather, she is known in most circles as “Hanni Pham”, so does her Vietnamese name need to be bolded when there’s no way to actually know that she has that on her birth certificate? I think the best option would be aligning Hanni’s formatting with Danielle’s, wherein we refer to her by her full name (Hanni Pham, as is mentioned in the first references) and then add her Vietnamese name (if appropriately cited) into her early life section. orangesclub🍊23:24, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it would depend on what we have sources to corroborate. Including "Phạm Ngọc Hân" in the first sentence implies to a reader that it's her full legal name, rather than what may just be a traditional Vietnamese name (especially the ordering, considering she was born and raised in a Western country and would highly likely be using western ordering). But, do we have any sources saying that "Hanni" is her actual name and not just a nickname'd version of "Hân"?Would be great if we could cook up a collection of what reliable sources have to say regarding her name and go from there.
