Merge proposal
[edit]I propose merging Halieutopsis vermicularis with this page, although FishBase still has a separate entry for H. vermicularis it does have a note that it is considered to be a synonym of H. nasuta, as does the IUCN Red List page for H. vermicularis. Catalog of Fishes is more definite. Quetzal1964 (talk) 12:13, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Support. Fishbase still uses Dibranchus nasutus. The discrepancy with CoF goes back to 2011 and that synonym note was 2014, so it may not be resolved soon. ECoF makes a clear statement in favour of Halieutopsis nasuta and the IUCN and Fishbase notes are compatible with this. The merger makes sense and the taxonomy section already explains the issue. — Jts1882 | talk 13:34, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 22:14, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
