I was trying to figure something out, and I think I see what's going on here. I have a CD of "The Great American Songbook, Volume 1", by the original artists (I think). I was trying to make a list of the songs and artists, because I have lost that. But anyone can cover these songs and many of them are in the public domain. So, if you want the original music that was a hit way back when, you might be out of luck, because you'll get Rod Stewart or Ringo Starr instead of Frank Sinatra etc. It's the songs themselves, not the great versions of those songs that made them famous, that are important. When "Wild Thing", originally by the Troggs, is included in this list, any bar band's version of it will be acceptable. :-) Wastrel Way (talk) Eric Wastrel Way (talk) 22:26, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
