Son

[edit]

Salomon 1 redirects to Yagbe'u Seyon, a 13th century emperor of Ethiopia, presumably not the intended person. 81.131.69.214 (talk) 19:38, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

adding sources

[edit]

I have started to add sources to some of the largely unsourced sections. Vultur~enwiki (talk) 02:40, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unwarrented assertion in lede

[edit]

The lede states:

". . . a semi-legendary 5th century "king" of Cornouaille . . . . He is supposed to have been the son of Conan Meriadoc, but Conan lived much earlier in the late 4th Century." [My italics]

Cornouaille#List of rulers lists Gradlon as preceding "Rivelen Mor Marthou (c. 430)" (the source is here); with no birth/death dates known, this suggests Gradlon was likely born around or before 400. According to Conan Meriadoc's article, Conan was associated with Magnus Maximus, Roman Emperor 383 to 388.

It does not seem to me at all obvious that a man presumably active in the 380s could not have had a son born around or before 400 – this is not "much earlier". While much of these matters is legendary, unreliable and undatable, the known dates of Maximus Magnus and the estimated one of Rivelin Mor Marthou make implied denial of Gradlon's paternity unwarranted. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 94.6.86.81 (talk) 12:09, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
