Sir Gordon Russell played a pivotal role in overseeing the Festival of Britain in 1951; he was chairman of the Council for Industrial Design which was one of the leading organisations directing the exhibition. I suggest it would be worth including a note about this on the page about him and cross linking it to the page on the Festival of Britain (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festival_of_Britain) which mentions the Council but not him. The significance of his role can be seen from photos - he greets the King and Queen on their arrival at the exhibition. How do I know this? My mother was working for him at the time and was with him at the opening of the exhibition. There is also information on the Gordon Russell website that confirms his role: http://www.gordonrussellmuseum.org/champion-design.aspx Joanna Biddolph (talk) 14:40, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
